A.P. Wakf Board is making efforts to save the land allotted to LANCO Hills through legal proceedings in the Supreme Court on the one hand but it failed to take any action on the orders issued by A.P. High Court in respect of Azam Jahi Masjid and Chilla Mahboob Subhani situated at Erram Manzil, Panjagutta.
High Court had issued orders to protect 400 Sq. land belonging to Azam Jahi Masjid in Panjagutta.
Local residents of Erram Manzil, Panjagutta contacted Siasat office and represented that with the connivance of some persons, the builder usurped 400 Sq. land belonging to the mosque. The builder had promised to allot another plot of land in lieu of this land but he provided only 200 sq land.
As per Islamic Shariat, a piece of land allocated for mosque, remains as mosque till the Doomsday. It can’t be transferred for some other purpose. The members of the mosque committee had opposed the proposal of shifting of land earmarked for mosque. Construction work is in progress due to the intervention of some influential political leaders.
When a complaint was made to Wakf Board, its officials surveyed the spot and confirmed that the plot of land admeasuring 400 sq.yards is a wakf property. The survey was done eight days back. The Wakf Board officials certified that there is an entry of this piece of land wakf register. After the survey was made, Wakf Board officials didn’t take any action to protect the wakf land. On the other hand, the complainant, Mr. Syed Kareemullah Husaini was attacked on 15th November. He got injured. It is reported that the persons connected with building attacked him.
A writ petition was filed in A.P. High Court. Mr. Justice Bhavani ordered the Wakf Board to initiate action as per rules within three months.
It is regrettable that despite the lapse of 90 days time, officials of Wakf Board didn’t take any action on High Court orders.
Local residents of Erram Manzil Colony have requested the Wakf Board to protect this important and valuable piece of land which has been earmarked for a mosque and to take legal action in accordance with the orders of A.P. High Court.
