Hyderabad: Telangana State Wakf Board passed a resolution to probe into the appointments made in the absence of elected Wakf Board.
It may be noted that these appointments were made during the tenures of offices held by Mr. Jalaluddin Akbar, Mr. Shaik Mohammed Iqbal, Mr. Syed Omer Jaleel and Mr. Asadullah.
A meeting of the Wakf Board was held under the chairmanship of Mr. Mohammed Saleem in which 6 members attended and 5 members remained absent.
Mr. Saleem told that in the absence of Wakf Board, irregularities were made in payments. Lakhs of rupees have been paid to lawyers. Incentives were given to Wakf Board employees for the collection of rents.
Mr. M.A. Mannan Farooqui, CEO of Wakf Board has been appointed a special officer for conducting the probe.
