(Siasat News) A meeting of A.P. State Wakf Board was held under the chairmanship of its President Maulana Syed Afzal Biyabani. Mr. Ahmed Nadeem, IAS, Secretary Minorities Welfare Dept., who is ex-officio member of the Wakf Board attended the meeting for the first time and stayed there for a longer time it was presumed that he has come to Wakf Board because he is unhappy with the function of the Wakf Board. He discussed various issues with Chairman and others members. The members of the Board apprised him of the unfavourable situations in which they function. They told him that quit often some Govt. dept or the other grabs Wakf land under Land Acquisition Act and pays petty amounts as compensation. He was also told the issues arising out of shortage of staff in Wakf Board.
Wakf Board constituted 15 managing committees for Wakf institutions and nominated 11 muthawallies besides registering for Wakf properties. Sanction was given for the constructions of buildings on 6 Wakf properties. In 4 cases departmental enquiries were approved and the promotion of 2 employees were also approved.
