‘Wahabi’ or ‘Deobandi’: Dead body exhumed from grave by members of another Muslim sect

Udaipur: 88 –years-old Mohammad Yusuf’s body was exhumed from graveyard allegedly by members of Barelvi sect who accused him of being a ‘Wahabi’ or ‘Deobandi’.

According to News18 reports, the incident happened in Udaipur district of Rajasthan on Feburary 9.

Mohammad Yusuf who passed away on Tuesday has always identified himself as a Sunni Muslim was buried at a local graveyard but soon his body was dug out by miscreants as he doesn’t belongs to that sect.

Yousuf’s son Hamid stated that he received threatening calls from unknown people asking him to dig out his father’s body as he was not from their sect.

Yusuf’s body was loaded back home in an ambulance and took to his native village in Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh, where he was at long last buried.

It has been reported by The Indian Express that an FIR was registered under IPC sections 297 (trespassing on burial places, etc.) and 270 (malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) against Mohammad Silawat, Badre Alam, Shakir Maulana and Zulkarnain for allegedly inciting people to exhume the body.
