Vishakapatnam, April 15: : There was an another accident, the second in four days, at the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant on Thursday. About 30 tonnes of molten steel fell on the floor at its Steel Melting Shop (SMS) damaging equipment and cables in a replay of the April 10th accident.
Sources said the accident occurred at the time of transfer of molten steel from a ladle to a convertor. Though none was injured, the mishap unnerved officials coming as it did amidst an ongoing enquiry into the incident of April 10. The officials, however, claimed the SMS was functioning normally.
