VRO: 3 AP govt officials arrested while taking bribe

Hyderabad, December 07: Three State Government employees including a Village Revenue Officer (VRO) were trapped by the sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Andhra Pradesh today.

Indurthi Ramachander Rao, Village Revenue Officer of Ambala village in Karimnagar District was caught red handed by the ACB officials at his residence when he accepted Rs 2,000 as bribe from the complainant.

In Mahabubnagar district, Anupati Narasimhulu, a Senior Assistant working in Sub-Treasury Office was trapped by the ACB officials when he accepted Rs 2,000 as bribe.

In another corruption case, Syed Masthan Sharief, Junior Assistant of the Office of Tahsildar, Mangalagiri in Guntur district was caught red handed when he took the bribe of Rs 2,000 from the complainant for doing an official favour of processing the application of the complainant for issuing death certificate in respect of his wife, a release from ACB said.

Meanwhile three state employees were trapped by the sleuths of ACB in different corruption cases.

S Sahadev, Joint Sub-Register-II, Rangareddy district was caught red handed in his office when he accepted Rs 1 lakh as illegal gratification from the complainant T Umesh Kumar, through A Bose Babu, document writer, for doing an official favour.

In Guntur district R Rama Rao, Village revenue Officer (VRO) of Vemavaram Village was trapped in his residence at Machavaram, when he accepted bribe of Rs 5,000 from the complainant, for doing an official favour.

They would be produced before the ACB Court, according to a release here.
