Hyderabad: Former captain of the Indian cricket team and senior Congress leader Mohammad Azharuddin said that voting for ruling TRS in Telangana is like voting for BJP because TRS has supported BJP on the issues like GST, the election of the president and Vice President.
Mohammad Azharuddin was speaking to media in Khammam during the election campaign of Nama Nageswara Rao a candidate of Congress’ ally Telugu Desam Party. He lashed out at TRS for ignoring minorities and said TRS government didn’t fulfil its promise of 12% reservation to Muslim.
He even burst out at the youth who asked him about 12% reservation. As an acting Chief Minister KCR should not have talked in such a way, as he is accountable to the public for the promises he made to them, said Azharuddin.
The Congress leader said due to the negligence of Telangana government 26 minority colleges were shut down because the government didn’t issue funds to them.
Azharuddin appealed to the minorities of Telangana to unitedly vote for the grand alliance that is Mahakutami.
