Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal on Monday clarified that the SMS search facility provided by the State CEO to give the status of the Voter ID Card had failed to function temporarily on Sunday only due to a minor technical snag.
He said in a statement that the technical snag had occurred in the process of online linkage to the huge voter data with the service provider leading to the temporary failure of the SMS system for few hours but was set right at the earliest and is fully functional now.
Bhanwarlal said that the snag in the SMS system has been set right and the process is operational in full swing.
Voters can now send SMS to 9246280027 as usual for information on the status of their voter ID card etc., To search for your name and polling booth etc., Type: VOTE
He said the voters could also dial up ECI Call Centre No: 1950 which operates on 24×7 basis and also email to CEO office – in case of emergencies and such temporary failures of SMS System. (INN)
