Hyderabad: Acknowledging the TRS clean sweep in Achampet Nagara Panchayat and landslide in Warangal and Khammam municipal corporations, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today congratulated the people for reposing confidence in his government. The Chief Minister attributed the fabulous victory in the civic elections in three places to the welfare schemes and developmental programs of the government.
“Indeed, the people have blessed us again as they are happy with our schemes”, KCR said and called upon the ministers to strive for keeping the promises made and win the people’s hearts. “With these results, our responsibility has grown and the entire administration will function more efficiently”, the Chief Minister assured and thanked the people and reassured that he would keep all the promises made during poll campaign. KCR also greeted the ministers for their efforts in the electioneering process that got rich dividends. Those who got pat from KCR at the camp office were Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao, MLA G Balaraju, MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy.
The ruling party broke the records by winning all the 20 seats in Achampet civic body, got 44 out of 58 divisions in Warangal and 34 out of 50 divisions in Khammam civic body for which elections were held on March 6. The Telugu Desam was routed as it could not win even a single division in Warangal and Khammam wherein the Congress won four and 10 divisions respectively. While the BJP managed to win only one seat, nine Independents won in Warangal. Similarly the CPI, CPI-M and YSRCP won two seats each in Khammam. (NSS)
