Mumbai, November 27: Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray today asked the party corporators to vote for the party unitedly considering close fight for the Mayor’s post, elections for which are scheduled for next month.
“Do not vote against the party and make sure that our candidate gets elected,” Thackeray said at the Sena Bhavan, in central Mumbai, addressing the corporators prior to the poll.
Sena-BJP alliance and Independent members supporting the alliance have 115 corporators. While opposition parties have 112 including 78 of Congress and 14 of NCP.
However, Snehal Jadhav and Shubhada Gudhekar, who were front runners for the mayor’s post, remained absent in the meeting.
