Hyderabad: Voice samples of Telugu Desam Party MLAs A Revanth Reddy and Sandra Venkata Veeraiah, accused in the cash-for-vote case, have been sent to the forensic science laboratory (FSL) here as part of the probe.
Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau had recently filed a petition in the ACB court here, requesting it to ask the Telangana Legislative Assembly to furnish the voice recordings of both the MLAs, a senior ACB officer told PTI tonight.
The Assembly submitted the voice samples to the court yesterday. The samples would be compared with the recordings in the mobile phone of another accused Bishop Harry Sebastian and the recordings made on the day the offence was committed (May 31), the ACB official said.
Sebastian’s phone has recordings of purported conversations between him and Sandra Venkata Veeraiah.
On July 28, ACB had filed a preliminary charge-sheet against Revanth Reddy and three others in a local court.
In May this year, nominated member of Telangana Assembly Elvis Stephenson lodged a complaint with the ACB, alleging that he was being offered Rs 5 crore by Revanth Reddy to vote for Telugu Desam candidate in election to Telangana Legislative Council on June 1.
A case was registered and on May 31 the ACB arrested Revanth Reddy, Sebastian and another person here while handing over an advance of Rs 50 lakh to Stephenson.
