Adam Voges hit an unbeaten century on his debut for the Baggy Greens as Australia recovered from a middle-order slump to finish the second day of the Barbados test against West Indies at a commanding 318 all out, before the visitors made some early breakthroughs with the ball.
Batting at 20 overnight, Voges was the one bright spark in the Aussie scorecard, with just about every other batsman unable to convert a start into a bigger score. Staring down the barrel, with the score 178/8 at one point, Voges found able partners in tailenders Nathan Lyon (22) and Josh Hazlewood (39), with the last wicket partnership of 97 pushing Australia to a strong finish.
Devendra Bishoo was the pick of the West Indies bowlers, picking up six wickets for 80 runs.
Meanwhile, West Indies began its second innings like the first, losing the wickets of Kraigg Brathwaite and Shai Hope to Mitchell Starc and Mitchell Johnson respectively, before the hosts finished at 25 runs for the loss of two wickets at stumps.
The hosts currently trail the Baggy Greens by 145 runs. (ANI)
