Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily announced that very soon Minorities Development Forum will setup a vocational center at Abid Ali Khan Eye Hospital, Darulshifa where five sewing machines would be provided for the girls to impart tailoring training. More Sewing machines would be provided if the number of trainees increases. Mr. Zahid Ali Khan was addressing the certificate distribution function of 45 day vocational summer camp organized by Siasat Urdu Daily and Minorities Development Forum. The function was held at Mahboob Husain Jigar Hall yesterday. Mr. Khudadad Khan (Industrialist), Mr. Iftekhar Husain, Secretary of Faiz-e-Aam Trust, Mr. Khaleeq ur Rahman, Coordinator of AICC were the guests of honour.
Mr. Zahid Ali Khan stressed the need for ladies to strengthen their economic position. He further told that one man’s earning for 10 dependents is an outdated concept. In the present days, ladies are engaged in earning their bread while observing purdah. He also said that girls excel in studies than boys. He lamented that boys are wasting their talents in indulging mobile, laptop and other trivial activities. It has become common to sit on the terraces and gossiping aimlessly during nights. The steps taken by police to admonish these youths not to waste their time in trivial activities are worth applauding. He appeal to the parents to be vigilant about the activities of their children which is causing a hindrance in their educational development. He made a reference to a girl student of Kareem Nagar who had secured 99% marks in 10th class public examination. In the same manner another girl from Hyderabad secured 22nd rank in IIT. On completion of her studies, she would earn Rs. 5 lakh a month. He made a reference to Ms. Salwa Fatima who became a pilot. Referring to Sacchar Committee Report, Mr. Zahid Ali Khan told that as per this report the Muslims are the most backward committee in the fields of economy and education. This report has been shelved in cold storage by the Govt. We should start our efforts instilling our faith in Allah (SWT) and his Prophet (PBUH). He congratulated the members of MDF for organizing this summer camp.
Mr. Iftekhar Husain told that Muslims can build their economy by job oriented courses. There is a need for the Muslim youngsters to concentrate on higher technical education. He announced that Faiz-e-Aam Trust also wants to start such projects in collaboration with MDF.
Mr. Khaleeq ur Rahman, in his speech told that by doing service to humanity we can reach Allah (SWT). He told that social service activities of Mr. Zahid Ali Khan are an asset to the nation. He assured that he would extend his cooperation to all the activities of MDF.
Mr. Syed Iftekhar Mushuraf, Executive Officer of Wakf Board attended the meeting as the guest of honour. Certificates were distributed to the participants of summer camp by Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Mr. Khudadad Khan, Mr. Iftekhar Husain and Mr. Khaleeq ur Rahman. Awards were also given to the incharges of vocational center.
