VKMI holds demo against growing corruption in JK

Jammu, April 10: A socio-spiritual voluntary organisation in collaboration with some NGOs, educational institutions and some prominent individuals held a three hour long dharna outside Raj Bhawan here today, demanding eradication of corruption from all walks of life.

Over 300 volunteers, led by founder Vichar Kranti Manch International K K Khajuria, sitting on dharna congratulated Anna Hazare, for his crusade against corruption which culminated in the government conceding his demand to constitute Jan Lokpal Bill, drafted jointly by a committee comprising equal representatives of the civil society and the government.

They demanded constitution of similar bills in JK as well.

A memorandum was submitted to Governor N N Vohra by VKMI in this regard.

It was also demanded that the state government should appoint an enquiry commission headed by a sitting or Retired High Court judge for identifying the corrupt among politicians, bureaucracy, criminals, land grabbers.
