Union Minister of State for External Affairs General (retired) V.K. Singh met his Spanish counterpart, Ignacio Ybanez, and held talks to discuss strengthening of ties between the two countries.
Ybanez, for whom it is the first official visit to India, said his meeting with Singh was fruitful.
“I came with an objective of trying to push for the strengthening of our relations. And I am going to have long day of meetings. I just came to see the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and we had very good discussion about these relations and trying to strengthen relations,” Ybanez said.
India and Spain established diplomatic relations in 1956. Spain, the 12th largest investor in India, is involved in infrastructure, renewable energy, auto components and water desalination/purification projects. (ANI)
