Visiting Chinese delegation meets BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia

Dhaka [Bangladesh]: The visiting Chinese delegation today met Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairperson Khaleda Zia at her office.

Earlier in the day, the delegation had also attended ruling Bangladesh Awami League’s council.

The Chinese delegation was led by Zheng Xiaosong, vice-minister of International Department of Communist Party of China held the hour-long meeting at Khaleda’s Gulshan office, reports the Daily Star.

According to Sayrul Kabir Khan, a staff of BNP chairperson’s media wing, the meeting started at around 5:15 p.m.

The contents of the meeting were not formally disclosed by either party.

This delegation had arrived in Dhaka on Friday to attend the Awami League’s two-day long national council which started at the city’s Suhrawardy Udyan this morning.

Sources say that Khaleda thanked the Chinese delegation for visiting Bangladesh.

Both sides gave importance on strengthening ties and increasing communication. (ANI)
