Vimalakka among 34 held for Emaar attack

Hyderabad, September 28: The police on Tuesday arrested Telangana United Front president Vimalakka in connection with the alleged attack on Emaar Properties office.

According to police, besides Vimalakka, the police also arrested 33 people in connection with the ransacking of Emaar Properties office and attacking their officials. All of them were arrested early on Tuesday morning. They were later produced before a magistrate, who remanded them to judicial custody for 14 days. The police have also seized 13 vehicles in this connection.

Following the magistrate directions, the police shifted Vimalakka and two other women to Chanchalguda Women’s Jail and remaining 29 persons to Cherlapally Central Prision.

Meanwhile, Vimalakka staged a protest in the police station in protest against the police taking photographs of accused in the case for identification purpose. Vimalakka said that she would take up the matter with Home Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy seeking justice.
