Villager rapes govt nurse in Bokaro

Bokaro, June 02: A nurse (24) woking in a government sub-health center in Jhabra village was allegedly raped by a villager when she was on her way back home from work under Chandankyari police station here.

Police on Wednesday arrested the accused Dulal Rajwar, a labour by profession, and sent him to judicial custody. According to Bokaro SP Saket Singh an FIR has been lodged in this connection against Rajwar, a resident of Jhabra village.

The victim is a resident of Chas area. She used to commute one and half kilometers on foot from her health center to Ramdih Mod from where she travelled in a hired vehicle for home. She was walking on her way home when Rajwar who was hiding in the bushes pounced on her and outraged her modesty, police said.

Later, she raised an alarm following which her colleagues reached the spot and informed police. The victim is a married woman. Police sources said during interrogation Rajwar said he was in an inebriated state at the time of incident.
