“So far we haven’t focused on research in our country and largely depended on material development by importing the technology and innovations. The Model of development that we are following now is extremely unfriendly for the environment. We need to develop a sensitivity towards the inter dependence of all the elements in the nature. Accordingly the model of development that we create must in harmony with all these elements” Dr. V.K.Saraswat, Retd. Director General, DRDO opined. Student Unit of Vijnana Bharati inaugurated at GITAM University, Hyderabad Campus on Saturday. Dr. Saraswat graced on the occasion as a chief guest and stressed the need of the nature’s way the technology has to go.
A.Jaykumar, Secretary General, Vijnana Bharati explained the objects of the organization. He appealed the budding engineers that, every one should come forward to make India a self reliance and glorious country and be ready to sacrifice for future of future generations.
M.Sri Bharat, Governing Body Member, GITAM University highlighted the role of youth in the developing country. He assured that, they can support as much as well for the progressive activities of Vijnan Bharati.
Pro Vice-Chancellor (R&D), Major General (Retd) Dr. R.Siva Kumar, explained the role of technology in Defence Science and importance of micro weather stations in the rural areas. He forecasted that, India is going to win Nobel Prize by 2025.
Prof. N.Siva Prasad, Director, GITAM School of Technology emphasized the importance of application oriented learning. The budding engineers have good opportunities and make use of them, he suggested. Utilize the GITAM Students Activities Center to learn the new things, the Director advised.
