TRS MP Vijaya Santhi has dismissed reports that her party would be merged in the Congress even if the central government conceded Telangana state.
The former actress has attended the Nava Ratri puja performed by tribal women in Ibrahimpur Tanda under Narsapur Mandal of Medak district for Telangana on Tuesday. Speaking to the media on the occasion, she said there was no question of the TRS merging in the Congress even if Telangana was conceded.
It may be recalled that the TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao has several times in the past has said that his party was created only to achieve Telangana and it would have served its purpose if statehood was achieved. He said he would gladly merge his party in the Congress if Telangana was conceded. Vijaya Santhi’s statement is now seen as a deviation to the stand taken by KCR. (NSS)
