YSR Congress party honorary president Y S Vijayamma on Saturday demanded immediate arrest of former Vangara Mandal Praja Parishat president Botsa Vasu Devaranayudu, the alleged mastermind behind the killing of four Dalits in a land dispute at Lakshmipeta village in Srikakulam district recently.
Addressing a public meeting at Maddivalasa in Srikakulam district for the first time after the victory of YSR Congress party in the 15 assembly constituencies, Vijayamma said that her party would work for providing justice to the victims in the land disputes. She demanded Medical Education Minister Kondru Murali Mohan resignation from his post for allegedly supporting Botsa Vasudevaranayudu.
Former chief minister YSR’s daughter Sharmila and YSR Congress leader Jupudi Prabhakar demanded the arrest of Botsa Vasudevaranayudu under SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act.
Earlier, Vijayamma visited RIMS where the victims were undergoing treatment and enquired about their health condition with the doctors. She assured the victims that the party would extend all support to them.
It may be mentioned that four Dalits were killed in a land dispute and 31 others including BCs were injured. The government has ordered a probe into the incident.
