Telugu Desam party MP Nama Nageshwara Rao here on Tuesday criticized the YSR Congress honorary president Y S Viyalalakshmi for talking “as she liked” against the Central Bureau of Investigation.
Speaking to media persons, Nama Nageshwara Rao recalled that then chief minister late Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy had ordered a CBI inquiry into the murder of TDP leader Paritala Ravi. The TDP leader also played a CD in the NTR Bhavan in which late YSR declared in the Assembly that the CBI was an autonomous premier investigating agency in the country.
“Who will save the hapless people of the State if a rank corrupt person and criminal becomes president of a political party?”, he asked. The TDP leader said that the CBI investigation had revealed only 15 per cent of irregularities and corrupt practices of Jaganmohan Reddy. He also alleged that the then Congress government had “murdered” seven people for asking just 60 cents of land in Mudigonda.
Demanding a deeper investigation into the scams of Jaganmohan Reddy, the TDP MP said that the YSR family, which looted the public money ruthlessly, has no moral right to seek votes from the people.
Another TDP leader Ravula Chandrasekhar said that the YSR Congress party leaders were making anti-Constitutional remarks. He warned that their utterances against the judges attributing motives would attract the provisions of contempt of court. He also demanded that the CBI interrogate the ministers, who were actively involved in the issue of 26 controversial GOs. (NSS)
