Vijayamma to lead YSRC’s by-poll campaign from May 30

YSR Congress party honorary president Y Vijayamma on Monday announced that she would lead the party’s by-elections campaign from May 30.

Talking to media persons at Lotus Pond, after ending the hunger strike that she took up in protest against the arrest of her son and Kadapa MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy by the CBI in connection with disproportionate assets case, Vijayamma called upon the voters in the respective constituencies to give a sound verdict in the by-elections. She sought the people of the people for YSR Congress candidates in the 18 Assembly constituencies, who sacrificed their posts supporting Jagan. She appealed to the people to teach a fitting lesson to the government and other parties, which conspired to send Jagan Mohan Reddy to jail.

Vijayamma said that she would campaign from Macherla constituency in Guntur after paying homage to YSR at his grave at Idupulapaya in Kadapa district. She accused the government, Congress party and the CBI of having conspired to send Jagan Mohan Reddy to jail and to hit the political prospects of YSR Congress party. She expressed confidence that Jagan Mohan Reddy would come out clean from the baseless allegations leveled by the CBI and bring back the golden rule of former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy in the State.

Vijayamma also thanked the Election Commission for allotting common symbol ‘Ceiling Fan’ for her party’s candidates in the elections.

Earlier, former Parkal MLA konda Surekha offerred lime juice to Vijayamma to withdraw her Deeksha. Former Allagadda MLA Shobha Nagireddy gave lime juice to Bharathi and Sharmila to end their hunger strike.
