Vijayamma dismisses reports of match-fixing with Congress

YSR Congress party honorary president YS Vijayamma on Sunday denied the reports of her party’s merger with the Congress party.

Talking to media persons in the Assembly premises, Vijayamma described the reports of merger as the creation of media. She said there was no truth in those reports and accused a section of media of fabricating facts and distorting statements to defame the YSR Congress party. She also dismissed the reports of some secret understanding with the Congress party to ensure bail for her son and Kadapa MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. She said that Jagan has been in jail for over 90 days and he has now approached the Supreme Court for the bail.

Regarding the assembly session, Vijayamma said that both the ruling Congress and main opposition party TDP were not serious about the session and the absence of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu from the Business Advisory Committee meeting was a proof for the same. Demanding that the session should have been held for at least 15 working days, she said that the YSRCP would seek debate on the issues of Fee Reimbursement, power crisis, improper supply of power, seeds and fertilizers to farmers issues and drinking water in drought affected areas.

Vijayamma slammed that State Government for its failure to tide over energy crisis. She said about 6.5 lakh industries in the State were on ventilation due to improper supply of power. She alleged that the lakhs of daily wage labourers have lost their livelihood due to government’s inefficiency in dealing with the power crisis. She asked the government to fix a deadline for the completion of Jalayagnum projects.

Claiming that former Chief Minister Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy, during his regime, has subsidised the hike in LPG prices, she demanded that Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy emulate YSR to reduce the burden from the common man.
