Vijaya Lakshmi, the widow of Rajeshwar Reddy, who filed nomination as independent candidate from Mahbubnagar Assembly constituency, on Saturday stated that she would not withdraw from the by-election.
Talking to media persons after meeting Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy at his Camp Office, Vijaya Lakshmi condemned media reports that she was withdrawing from the by-elections after having discussions with the Chief Minister.
She said that the Chief Minister stated that the Congress party would not change its candidate Muthya Prakash. However, the Chief Minister assured her that he would give her a suitable position in the party. “When the Chief Minister called me, I thought that the Congress party will give me B-Form. But the party has broken my hopes. I will take a decision on my contest after consulting the party seniors in my constituency,” she said. (INN)
