Jagathi Publications Limited Vice-Chairman Vijay Sai Reddy on Wednesday filed a petition in the CBI Special Court, Nampally seeking permission to him to leave the city on a pilgrimage tour for six days.
In a petition filed before the court, Vijay Sai Reddy, the second accused in the YSR Congress party president and Kadapa MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s disproportionate assets case, stated that he needs to go to Tirupati and Shirdi for six days on a pilgrimage trip.
The court after hearing the arguments of Vijay Sai Reddy counsel, directed the CBI to file a counter petition in this regard.
Earlier, the then Judge of the CBI Court B Naga Maruthi Sharma on April 30, while granting bail to Vijay Sai Reddy, had imposed condition that he should take prior permission from the court to leave the city.
The CBI later challenged the verdict in the High Court to cancel the bail and the court is yet to pronounce its verdict on the petition.
