Hyderabad, September 18: Vijay Jawaharlal Darda, Rajya Sabha MP and chairman and MD of the Lokmat Group of newspapers, has been unanimously elected as the chairman of Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) for the year 2010-11.
The prestigious Feroz Gandhi Memorial Award winner, Mr. V J Darda has been a member of the Bureau’s council of management since 2003 and served as its Deputy Chairman in 2009-10. He has been the Rajya Sabha MP since 1998.
Sam Balsara, Chairman & Managing Director of Madison Communications, a prominent Advertising Agency has been elected as Deputy Chairman.
Members of the Bureau’s Council representing publishing houses are Mr. Vijay Darda (Lokmat times), Mr. Ravi Dhariwal, (Bennett Coleman), Mr. T. Venkattram Reddy (Deccan Chronicle holdings) and Mr. Shailesh Gupta (Jagran Prakashan), Mr. M. Venkatesh (Hindustan Media Ventures) Mr. Amit Mathew (Malayala Manorama) Mr. Aritra Sarkar (ABP Pvt. Ltd).

Mr. Hormuzd Masani of secretariat has been elected as Secretary General.
