Hyderabad: If you find no Vidya Volunteers in government schools of Hyderabad, don’t get surprised as Vidya Volunteers are leaving jobs one after another. They didn’t get salaries for the past four months hence are forced to leave the jobs.
How can the Vidya Volunteers, who are performing their duties by shifting to the city from nearby districts and villages, manage without salaries? Hence they are forced to leave the job and return to their native places as they didn’t get salaries for the past four months. Already it was Herculean task for them to make both ends meet by getting Rs. 8 thousand a month. Depriving them of salaries for four months added to their woes and left them with no other choice but to return to their native places.
Although District Education Officer had recommended paying salaries of Vidya Volunteers on time and giving them house allowance but attention was not paid towards the matter. Due to absence of teachers students are found spending their time in playing.
