Vidya Balan hopes to emulate Aamir Khan’s film success

Mumbai:Actress Vidya Balan says she hopes her films do as much business as that of Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan.

When asked how she feels about the tag of being ‘female’ Aamir Khan, Vidya said, “I hope my films do business like that of Aamir Khan’s films. It’s a huge compliment when someone says that (calls female Aamir Khan).

“He knows lot about films and marketing. I believe he is a marketing guru. I haven’t worked with him yet. I think I have a long way to go. I hope my films do that kind of business,” Vidya said at the trailer launch of “Kahaani 2: Durga Rani Singh”.

The National award winning actress is yet to team-up for a film with any of the top stars of Bollywood.

“May be because I did not have the opportunity. I would like to stand on my own feet. I don’t put my hand on anyone else’s shoulder to stand tall. Not that anyone is doing it don’t get me wrong. I am standing on my own feet and I feel proud about it.”

Post “Kahaani”, Vidya is yet to taste commercial success and she says she works hard for every film.

“I would want all my films to work commercially. I have given my best to every film. With experience you learn that there will be hits and flops but you have to keep going on. If the film doesn’t work it is heartbreaking,” she added.

Sujoy Ghosh’s “Kahaani 2: Durga Rani Singh” releases on December 2.
