Hyderabad: Known for his Dakhni Mazahiya poetry Ghouse Mohiuddin Ahmed @ Khamakha Hyderabadi passes away at the age of 79 in Hyderabad.
Khamakha Hyderabadi was an Urdu language poet who hails from Hyderabad. He was popular for his poems and is a regular at Mazahiya Mushairas. He wrote in native Dakhni dialect, specialising in humour and satire.
He was born as Ghouse Mohiuddin Ahmed in Hyderabad state and completed his high school in Urdu medium.
He started performing at the age of 18. He assumed a pen name, Khamakha Hyderabadi. Khamakha meaning Without Reason.
He is survived by wife, three sons and a daughter in Edmonton, Canada.
Apart from poetry, he authored three books: 1. Harf-e-Mukarrar (A Story Retold), 2. Ba-Fard-e-Muhal and 3. Kagaz ke Tishey.
He had performed live on stage shows in the United States Of America, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Sultanate Of Oman etc. apart from performing in India.
Namaz-e-Janaza offered at Masjid-e-Bilal near Vengal Rao Park in Banjara Hills area of Hyderabad.
