Video: School defies Govt order, forces SSC examinees to remove Burqa in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: School management in Saifabad reportedly asked Muslim students appearing for SSC examation to remove their burqas before entering the school building.

According to Telangana Today, the incident first happened at S V V School at Saidabad on Friday and again on Saturday, the management did the same.

The students’ families telephoned Majlis Bachao Tahreek (MBT) leader Amjedullah Khan who upon receiving the information reached the center and along with parents of the students protested against the act of School management.

“Again on Saturday, the management again asked the girl students to remove their veil following which we protested,” said the MBT leader.

Although, there are clear orders of Director of Govt. Examinations in this connection to staff on invigilation duty for SSC exams especially Chief Superintendent and Departmental Officers, however the school allegedly refused to permits Muslims students to wear hijabs and ‘burqas’.

Soon Education Department officials visited the school and sorted out the issue after speaking with the parents and management.

Mr.Amjedullah Khan lodged complaint to the DEO Hyderabad and demanded stern action aaginst the administration.
