Video of ‘Saudi Prince’ assaulting civilians gone viral, sparks outrage

RIYADH: A video of Saudi prince allegedly threatening civilians with a gun during a street fight has gone viral on social media platforms.

The young prince in the video is identified as Mashhoor bin Talal bin Abdul Aziz, was seen quarrelling in front of a school in Northern Riyadh during which he threatened civilians with a weapon, Al Arab reported.

Mashhoor is a nephew of billionaire philanthropist and investor Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, who was arrested on corruption charges.

Soon after the video of the incident went viral online, Saudi citizens erupted in outrage and demanded action against those involved.

Following the uproar caused by the viral video clip, the king ordered the immediate arrest of all those who appeared.

All those including Prince Mashhoor were identified and arrested.

“Riyadh police officers were successfully able to identify those involved. They include 4 Saudis and a Sudanese expat. They have all been arrested and authorities have now confiscated the weapon used in the brawl,” the official spokesman for Riyadh police, General Fawaz Al Meeman said.
