Hyderabad: Principal of St George’s High School, Moulali, allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000 for altering certain data of a Class 10 student. The video of the principal asking for a bribe went viral on social media after a parent secretly shot the video and uploaded it on Youtube.
The parent also informed Malkajgiri Mandal Education Officer R. Srinivas about the bribe demand. However no formal complaint was lodged.
According to MEO Mr. Srinivas, a Class 10 student was absent for internal exams conducted by the school and the management was allegedly demanding money for sending marks to the higher authorities. It must be noted that every student should get at least seven out of 20 marks allocated for internals.
An enquiry has been ordered into the case.
