A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) is filed against Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) Chief, Asaduddin Owaisi in Allahbad High Court on Tuesday for refusing to say ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’. PIL has been filed under sedition charges against him.
When media asked about the PIL, Mr. Owaisi said that he had full faith in the legal system and finished his statement saying ‘Jai Hind’.

Meanwhile, BJP General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya on Tuesday said that those who do not want to chant the ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ slogan should leave the country. “I feel that those who don’t want to chant ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ has no right to stay in India. They should go to some other country,” Vijayvargiya told reporters.
It is to be noted that Mr. Owaisi rejecting RSS Chief, Mohan Bhagwat’s suggestion for chanting the slogan to infuse patriotism, had said yesterday that he would not say ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ even if a knife was put to his throat prompting Shiv Sena to tell him that he should go to Pakistan.
Owaisi’s statement came days after Bhagwat said the new generation needed to be taught to chant slogans ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’.
