AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi’s proposed public rally in the capital of UP was cancelled after the city administration denied permission to it.
The official said that Mr Owaisi can visit Lucknow but it would be closely monitored. However, AIMIM state unit president Shaukat Ali told to reporter that, ” Give permission or not, Owaisi will come to UP and will meet the local people and try to know their problems.
However, his party miserably failed in Bihar’s electoral politics and has not been able to win even a single assembly seat.
According to the report, Owaisi is to context in next year’s assembly elections in UP and he hopes of getting votes of Muslims and Dalit.
Recently AIMIM leader courted a controversy when he refused to say ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ which has evoked protest in some parts of Uttar Pradesh.
The rally was slated to be held at Refah-e-Aam Club ground here. A senior district official here said that the decision was taken after considering the likelihood of law and order problem in the rally.
A private complaint was filed in the Hyderabad court on Wednesday seeking direction to police to register a case against Owaisi over his speech. As per reports, the PIL has been filed under IPC Section 124A (sedition) against the leader.
