Video: Lust of power made UP bureaucrat Hafiz Usman to chant ‘Jai Sri Ram’ slogans?

BAREILLY: In a strange incident, Uttar Pradesh State Information Commissioner Hafiz Usman, created stir by raising slogans ‘Jai Sri Ram’ and “Bharat Mata ki Jai” and also opposing the triple talaq.

People are still wondering why Hafiz, a Samajwadi party leader and loyalist of the senior party leader Mohammad Azam Khan raised Hindu, nationalistic slogans like ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ etc.

The RTI-related function was held at the Panchayt Bhawan in Moradabad fortnightly and Hafiz Usman was the chief guest. The district magistrate, Divisional Commissioner and Deputy Inspector General of police was also present in the programme on RTI.

Addressing a meeting during a workshop on the Right to Information Act, Hafiz first spoke on the RTI Act and suddenly started speaking against triple talaq.

He later give a lecture on Hindu-Muslim harmony asking the participants in the meeting to raise Hindu, nationalistic slogans like ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ etc. along with him.

“I regret that I am the chief guest of the programme and I am the State Information Commissioner and yet I am being prevented from speaking. I have said nothing which can create discord between the Hindu and Muslims, my only wish is to clear the misunderstanding between the two communities and bring them closer”.

Hafiz Usman added “Hindu is the elder brother and the Muslims is younger brother”. The Programme Coordinator objected to the conduct of Hafiz Usman, but he continued to raise raised the ‘Jai Shri Ram’’ slogans praising Lord Ram.
