VIDEO: Kashmir tragedy – Use of pellet guns blinding people

Aljazeera report: Hundreds of people have been treated for serious eye injuries at a hospital in Indian-administered Kashmir since violence broke out over a month ago in the troubled region.

Hindustan times report: Indian Kashmiri girl Insha Malik, 14, in hospital after being shot with pellets fired by Indian security forces, with doctors saying she had lost vision in both eyes, in the surgical ICU hospital in Srinagar on July 14.

Children continue to get maimed by the wanton use of pellet guns by government forces in Kashmir.

The latest victims are eight-year-old Asif Rashid and 13-year-old Mir Arafat, both of whom were hit by pellets fired by government forces to disperse protesters in Khanabal area of Anantnag.

Great Kashmir report: Condemning the use of deadly pellet fires by government forces while dispersing peaceful protestors in various parts of Valley particularly in South Kashmir, senior Hurriyat leader and chairman Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (H) Chairman Javaid Ahmad Mir has said the use of pellet gun resembles the brutality of Israel over the Gaza.
