Rajasthan shame: Video of Dalit boys stripped, thrashed goes viral

Once again a case of discrimination against Dalits by Upper caste gets added in the history. In a heinous act, 3 Dalit boys aged between 13 and 15 years were stripped, paraded and mercilessly beaten by a mob on Saturday for allegedly stealing the bike of an upper caste man.

According to reports the horrific incident took place in Bassi tehsil of Chittorgarh city of Rajasthan. An angry mob belonging to upper caste caught three Dalit teens, for allegedly stealing a bike. The mob not only tied them to a tree, but also beat them and later paraded them naked for an hour in full public view.

The boys belong to Kanjar community and are mostly into menial jobs like selling broomsticks, construction work, etc. They generally live on the outskirts of village and town as they are not socially accepted by other communities.

The video of the shameful incident is going viral. For nearly 30 minutes, the three young boys seen shaking with fear as mob slaps them.

The teens lay naked on the bituminous surface when the temperature was touching 42 degrees Celsius. The victims were pleading for help but the people appeared to be mere spectators.

Police came an hour later and had to struggle to rescue the boys from the mob. They were rushed to the civil hospital. Almost 24 hours after the incident, Bassi police are yet to arrest any person involved the beating of Dalit boys.
