Video: BJP’s hypocrisy exposed, own Minister cant sing ‘Vande Mataram’

NEW DELHI: Ministers in the Modi-led government insist everyone must sing Vande Mataram but they themselves unable to deliver when asked to “prove their patriotism.”

During India Today’s Newsroom debate with anchor Rahul Kanwal, UP’s MoS Minority Welfare, Baldev Singh Aulakh, was asked to sing four lines of Vande Mataram.

But instead of singing, the BJP minister kept deflecting the question to get out of singing.
In the video, the UP minister used all possible means and gave one after another excuses to avoid singing despite several requests from the anchor.

This shouldn’t be a surprise as previously BJP Minister Raj Purohit in Maharashtra, made a furore outside the State Assembly, when asked to sing Vande Mataram.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday came out in Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC)’s support over its resolution to make singing of Vande Mataram compulsory in all BMC-run schools.

Earlier on Thursday, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) issued a notice to make the singing of Vande Mataram mandatory in schools across Maharashtra which also includes several Urdu-medium schools.

In Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi Adityanath government has directed all Muslim madrasas(Islamic schools) to hold celebrations on Independence Day and videograph the event and singing ‘Vande Mataram’ is a must as per the circular.

This comes after the Madras High Court had in July ordered the singing of the national song in all educational institutions at least once in a week.
