Bengaluru: Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) opener Hashim Amla has always played the game in right spirit.
The South Africa opener once again impressed one and all with his on-field gesture in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017.
During a match between Kings XI Punjab and Royal Challengers Bangalore at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Amla tried to cut Aniket Choudhary delivery but missed and the ball was caught by wicketkeeper Kedar Jadhav.
Amla realised that the ball had brushed his willow and without an appeal from the bowler or the wicket- keeper, like a true sportsperson walked off the field.
Amla’s on-field gesture garnered applause for his ‘fair play’ during match and once again he established himself as one of the stalwarts of modern-day cricket.
Here is a clip of Amla’s ‘soft’ dismissal:

Twitterati hailed the South African cricketer for his honesty. Here are some:
How many batsmen would walk without bowler appealing but that's how this guy plays his cricket @amlahash @IPL #honestman

Hashim Amla. So much class. So much grace. No one even appealed. He just started walking. Absolute legend.
