Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today conducted raids on the residence of Kukatpally Assistant Commissioner of Police Sanjeeva Rao and found huge illegal assets.
The ACB conducted raids at six places belonging to Sanjeeva Rao simultaneously at his Kukatpally office, houses at Alwal, Warangal and Karimnagar. The sleuths found 75 tolas of gold, a shopping complex, two houses at IT colony, a farm house at Shamirpet, 30 acre land at Toopran, 10 acre land each at Mulug and Ramannapet. The ACB sleuths also found Sanjeeva Rao’s assets in benami name at Vasavi Colony in Secunderabad Cantonment area. They also found a cash of Rs 3.29 lakh and documents relating to 44 acres of land in the name of Sanjeeva Rao. They also seized bank passbooks, documents of assets at Sanjeeva Rao’s from his residence at Dammannapet.
ACB Deputy Superintendent of Police P Sunitha said they seized bank accounts belonging to Sanjeeva Rao. She also said the bank lockers would be opened on Monday. They identified properties worth Rs 2 crore belonging to the ACP till now, she added. (NSS)
