Berlin: Reema Sahwil, a 14-year-old Palestinian girl who burst into tears when German Chancellor, Angela Merkel told her that she might be deported has been granted a residency permit to stay in Germany until October 2017.
Earlier, during a television discussion in July, Reem Sahwil began to cry when Merkel told her that Germany could not admit everyone who wanted to live there.
Sahwil along with her family has been granted a residency permit lasting until 17th October, 2017.

Commenting on this, Lorenz, Interior Minister for the northern state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern said, “I am pleased that Reem’s residency status has been clarified”.
