Victims of police firing buried amid tight security

The burial of all two out of three victims of police firing in Mohammadabad of Kishan Bagh took place amid tight security on Wednesday evening.

Earlier, the bodies of Mohammad Shujauddin Khateeb (38) and Mohammad Fareed (30) were shifted to the Osmania General Hospital mortuary while the body of third victim – Mohammad Wajid Ali (35) was taken to the Gandhi Hospital mortuary for post-mortem. The police handed over the bodies to the relatives while requesting them to perform the final rites immediately.

The bodies of Shujauddin Khateeb and Fareed were brought to their residences in Arsh Mahal in police vans amid tight security. The Namaz-e-Janaza was performed at Jamia Masjid of Arsh Mahal while the burial took place in the nearby graveyard. The relatives have expressed their anger over the police personnel for resorting to open firing. They alleged that all three victims received multiple bullet injuries which clearly indicate that the firing was aimed at killing them and not dispersing the mobs.

MIM President Asaduddin Owaisi, Charminar MLA Ahmed Pasha Quadri, GHMC Mayor Mohammad Majid Hussain and other leaders were present at the time of burial. (INN)
