(Siasat News) It has become very difficult for poor women to get justice from the police these days.
Ms. Aliya Begum is a resident of Edi Bazaar. She went round the local police station for seven weeks but her plea was not heard. At last, she went to the office of the Commissioner of Police. She was weeping. The police constables on duty at the gate didn’t allow her to enter Police Commissioner’s office. On the intervention of press reporters, she was allowed to meet the Commissioner of Police. She told that she had been making rounds of police station, Madannapet but she didn’t get justice.
She narrated the tale of her grief that she got married two years to one Mr. Shahid, a resident of Kishan Bagh. She has a two month old child also. She has 7 sisters and two brothers. Her father is handicapped and hence doesn’t work anywhere. Her mother and her three unmarried sisters earn bread for the family. They live in a rented house. She said that she attended a function held at Kishanbagh which changed her life. Her husband met her cousin sister in Kishan Bagh and fell in love with her.
She even gave Rs. 70,000 to her husband so that the family is not shattered.
She alleged that she has been going to Madannapet and Bhavaninagar police stations but she didn’t get justice there. She also approached Women’s police station at Ghansi Bazaar but no body listened to her woes.
She met the Commissioner of police and told that her cousin sister runs a brothel house. She has entangled her husband Shahid into her clutches. Her cousin sister had three husbands earlier who have left her. Her husband Shahid is the fourth person.
Ms. Aliya alleged that her cousin sister bribes the police officials and gets all her illegal works done. Police Officers don’t take any action against her because they receive money from her. Ms. Aliya told that there are many such destitute girls in the city whose life, her cousin sister has spoiled by forcing them to indulge in unlawful activities of flesh trade.
She has requested the Commissioner of Police to do justice. She is hopeful of getting justice from him.
