New Delhi: Government of India has declared to release a coin of the denomination of Rs. 125. This will be released by Mr. Venkaiah Naidu, Vice President of India.
It may be mentioned that this coin is being issued to mark the 125th birth anniversary of the noted economist, Mahalanobis.

Who was Mahalanobis?
Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis was an Indian Scientist and an Applied Statistician. He was born on 29th June 1893 in Calcutta, Bengal and died on 28th June 1972 at the age of 78.
