Rajya Sabha member V Hanumanth Rao on Monday requested Governor ESL Narasimhan to order a probe into the files cleared by former Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy after July 30, the day when Congress Working Committee passed a resolution to divide the State.
Speaking to media persons here, VHR welcomed the reported statement of the Governor wherein he said that the decisions taken by previous government could be reviewed. He accused Kiran Kumar Reddy of indulging in large scale corruption for clearing files before quitting as the Chief Minister. He expressed confidence that an enquiry would expose the shady deals executed by Kiran Kumar Reddy.
VHR also condemned the proposed Odarpu Yatra of YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in Telangana districts. He requested the Governor not to permit the yatra in view of law and order problem. He also opposed the YSRCP’s plan to field Sharmila from one of the Lok Sabha seats in Telangana region.
The Congress MP also ridiculed the offer of N Chandrababu Naidu of making a BC the Chief Minister of Telangana. He said if Naidu was serious about his commitment, then he should first make a BC, the President of TDP, either in Telangana or Seemandhra region.
When asked about TRS merger with the Congress party, VHR hoped that TRS President K Chandhrasekhar Rao would honour his promise of merging his party into the Congress after the passing of Telangana Bill in Parliament. (INN)
