VHR did not rule out being in race for CM’s post

Congress senior leader and Rajya Sabha MP V Hanumantha Rao did not rule out him being in the race for the post of Chief Minister of Telangana.

Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, VHR said that although it was too premature to speak about the next Chief Minister of Telangana, the decision would be taken by the Congress High Command if the party comes to power in Telangana after the ensuing elections. VHR’s decision to contest from Amberpet Assembly constituency and the party’s decision to give Chief Minister’s post to a BC leader has raised speculations that VHR might be an aspirant for the top post.

VHR strongly condemned that alliance between the TDP and BJP. He alleged that TDP President Nara Chandrababu Naidu created lot of obstacles in the formation of Telangana and much before the bifurcation process gained momentum opened doors of alliance with the BJP through M Venkaiah Naidu. He also condemned Naidu for supporting the candidature of Narendra Modi for the Prime Minister’s post. He said people have understood the true colours of Naidu and they would teach him a fitting lesson in next elections.

The Congress leader also demanded that the Congress party should give more number of tickets to Muslim candidates. He expressed regret that only four Muslim leaders were given Congress ticket for Assembly elections in Telangana. (INN)
