VHR criticses Reddys for opposing Kapus inclusion in cabinet

Hyderabad, January 22: Rajya Sabha member and senior Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao criticised the leaders of Reddy community for opposing the cabinet berths given to Kapu leaders during the recent expansion of State cabinet.

Talking to media persons after contacting Congress In-Charge of State Affairs at Gandhi Bhavan here on Sunday, Hanumantha Rao condemned the Reddy community’s allegation that they do not have proper representation in the Council of Ministers. Stating that there was no truth in those accusations, he said that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy gave proper representation to all communities in his cabinet.

Hanumantha Rao said that the Chief Minister should reshuffle and expand his council of ministers again after the assembly by-elections in the state. He said the party should reward the leaders with the ministerial berths who work with commitment to win the by-elections.

The Rajya Sabha MP also claimed that he never objected giving ministerial posts to the PRP leaders.

Stating that SCs and STs are permanent vote bank for party, he said the government should not neglect them during the next cabinet expansion.
