VHR asks party to introspect reasons for defeat

Rajya Sabha MP V Hanumantha Rao on Friday said that the party was defeated in the by-elections held for seven Assembly constituencies due to its failure to introspect its approach after Kadapa by-elections.

Talking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, he said that the party should conduct `Medhomadanam’ with party senior leaders immediately to identify the reasons for its failure in the by-elections. Stating that the party should know the pulse of the people through workers in Medhomadanam, he said that the feedback would be useful in rectifying the mistakes. The identification of mistakes would help the party in strengthening the base and a strategy could be designed to contest the ensuing by-elections in 17 assembly segments efficiently, he pointed out.

Hanumantha Rao said that YSR Congress party candidate N Prasanna Kumar Reddy won from Kovur Assembly segment as the Congress party has failed to create awareness among the people on Jagan Mohan Reddy’s corruption. If all Congress party leaders would have highlighted Jagan’s rampant corruption in the State, he said that the Congress party candidate P Srinivasa Reddy would have won the by-elections with flying colors.
