New Delhi: VHP on Thursday launched a scathing attack on the West Bengal government for its inaction against those behind the Malda violence, for which it accused local TMC leaders, and said it would launch a ‘Jan Andolan’ to force the administration to act against the culprits.
The Hindutva outfit also expressed serious concern and said the large-scale violence in Malda posed a “challenge” to the entire country.
“Due to its appeasement policy, the West Bengal government is not taking action and is unable to accept the challenge posed by ‘jihadis’. It is a serious issue for the entire country. The Malda incident is a challenge for the country,” VHP joint general secretary Surendra Jain said.
“VHP expresses concern over the developments and it seems it will have to take to the streets and launch a ‘Jan Andolan’ to force the state government to take action against the culprits,” he said.
He wondered why no action has been taken against the perpetrators of the violence.
